NYC from a different perspective

Most who dream of a visit to The Big Apple, think of big city lights, sky scrapes, bumper to bumper yellow cabs, sight seeing, and of course, the occasional celebrity sighting. I, on the other hand, think of the bead district, The Brooklyn Flea, and trips on the subway to unchartered territory for future business relations. My expectations were exceeded with my recent trip to New York. Here are a few pictures from my first day, in The Bead District. I am anxious to return real soon.

An escape to The Big Apple Sept 26-28

It's been more than a decade since I have visited New York City. I've been waiting for  the stars to align, and the time has come! This will be a long awaited three day trip with a talented girlfriend to seek inspiration and stimulate our creative juices. I can't think of a better place. On our list of places to visit, Soho and Brooklyn Flea...maybe even Chinatown. Three days won't be enough!

EVENT WEEKEND October 6th and 7th

It is starting to feel like Fall, finally! Outdoor festivals are in full swing. This weekend Girls Day Out will be at The Charlottesville City Market on Saturday, October 6, from 7a-12noon. And, if you want to try something different, come check out Taste of Culpeper on Sunday. This annual event hosts the areas best vineyards and restaurants and is held at The Depot in downtown Culpeper from noon-5pm the 2nd Sunday in October. Girls Day Out will have an excellent variety of popular fall designs. Look for us on Davis Street. Both events are rain or shine.

Coming soon to Madison and Mabel

I have crossed paths with Kelly Tyree, the owner of Madison and Mabel, more than once. And, I am awestruck with her ability to transform an old treasure into a new piece. Her style is industrial, rustic and chic. She has some serious skill when it comes to fashion, too!  I am excited to announce that select GDO designs will soon be available at Madison and Mabel. You can find them inside Chartreuse and Company at 4007 Buckeystown Pike, Frederick, MD. Hours are limited to specific dates and times each month, so be sure to check them out online for more details.

If you want the best selection of Girls Day Out Designs, then you know you have to show up before 10am on Saturday at The Charlottesville City Market. I'll be in my regular space and am looking forward to a gorgeous day. Stop by and take a peak at our latest designs for Fall.

Custom orders are filled for those who placed orders with me in the past two weeks. Tomorrow is going to be perfect for strolling the isles of The Charlottesville City Market. EVENT Chicks Picks September 27,28,29

Fall is in the air. And, Chicks Picks is THE PLACE to stock up on your Fall fashion. Deck your home, and deck yourself with the latest fall trends, in the fun fill space at the home of Hillary Tattersall. In addition to loads of other designers, girls day out will feature our fall hand towel collection of owls, keys and bats. A variety of fall jewelry from GDO will also be available. And, check out our first batch of patchwork applique bamboo scarves.
