So, school is back in session at UVA. And, traffic at the City Market is unpresidented. I have restocked on cameo's and am excited to introduce the latest additions to my fall collection. If you're not into jewelry, then these dainty antique brass headbands are the perfect accessory for you. See you from 7a-12noon.

I have to say that, one of the most flattering compliments I can receive as an artist, is to be recognized by a fellow designer. Check out this elegant blog by Kirsten Krason, an interior designer from Utah. She chose my Blue Beauty design to feature on her blog along side some other wonderful selections. http://www.6thstreetdesignschool.blogspot.com/

Today I met with the owner and artist of Beekeepers Cottage in Leesburg VA. Anne is so much like myself. She is an artist and a perfectionist. We could have chatted all day about our experience in this industry and how to keep up with a growing business. I am excited to announce that Beekeepers Cottage now carries a variety of designs from Girls Day Out. They will have select items available online and in their store. Also, stay tuned for details of a trunk show on location in October... Who has already begun their Christmas shopping? I assure you, this is the place to stock up on unique treasures. For a sneak peak of what they offer, check out their website www.beekeeperscottage.com Or, visit them in person at 42350 Lucketts Rd. Leesburg VA 20176.

I have realized that seven days in a week just isn't enough for me to stay on top of it all. Family, friends and a thriving business have me working hard, sleeping little and no time to add anything to our agenda. We decided, this Summer, rather than an elaborate vacation, to take time out and catch up with family. My closest Aunts, Uncles and cousins live several hundred miles away in Michigan. It's not easy to travel that far with a family of five. So, with diligent planning, this year, and some serious determination to leave work behind me, here we are. As I tell my family here what is waiting for us back in VA, I am both anxious to get home and get back to work, but also sad to go. To my loyal customers, I will be at the city Market on Saturday in Charlottesville.
